We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Financial Banking Services Officer. Reporting to an Enterprise Service Manager, this full-time, permanent position is based in Amsterdam and offers local coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact on our Funds business and its growth.
Purpose of Role
As a Senior Financial Banking Services Officer, you are committed to ensuring all payments and supporting documents (e.g. approvals, invoices) for our clients are done in a timely and accurate manner. You will have a central role in global payments and will work closely together with financial services accountants, legal services lawyers and relationship managers. You will have to maintain an active relationship with our key-client contacts and take a leading role in external communications towards banks.
The teams consist of energetic professionals that are eager to continuously challenge each other and develop themselves to bring out the best in the team and every individual.
You will report into the Manager Accounting and provide a full range of banking and administration tasks and act as a resource for colleagues in the Private Equity team
Key Responsibilities
You will manage relationships with banks, client contacts and ensure systems are up to date and perform support on a variety of administrative-related activities. The main tasks are listed but not limited to:
- Preparation and/or reviewing payment orders;
- First point of contact for banking contacts;
- First point of contact for client in relation to payments and/or banking related matters;
- Managing the relationship with financial institutions and banks;
- Preparing the opening and closing of bank accounts in close cooperation with the business;
- Ensuring bank account access and authority is granted or retracted in close cooperation with the responsible team / contact persons;
- Act as system administrator on 300+ client bank accounts across multiple banks
- Close contact with other Vistra offices regarding bank account access for various banking items/activities.
- Providing training and guidance to junior staff
- Invoice and treasury management (transaction overviews);
- Weekly/monthly/quarterly transaction monitoring.
Attributes/Technical Skills
We are looking for a pro-active, persuasive new colleague, with a high focus on quality and client satisfaction. If you are the perfect candidate, you will have:
- Excellent command of the English and preferably Dutch language, verbal and written;
- 3-5 years’ payment processing in the banking industry (global high-volume single instruction experience is a pre)
- Regulatory Knowledge of Dutch legal requirements in relation to Transaction Monitoring within a Trust company, e.g. the Dutch Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act and the Dutch
- Trust Offices (Supervision) Act;
- Payments Industry Knowledge – understand the role of SWIFT in making payments and the different SWIFT message types;
- Experience in training and guiding junior staff;
- Coordinating and planning skills;
- Excellent communication and people skills
- MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Relevant Experience
- 3-5 years of experience within the banking industry (global high-volume single instruction experience is a pre)
Education and Professional Qualification
- Bachelor (HBO) education or proven equivalent experience and knowledge
