We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Regulatory Counsel reporting to the Conducting officer VFM Compliance and AML/CFT. This role is based in Luxembourg and offer regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant contribution to our funds business and its growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Advisory
- Advise on new laws, regulations, and regulatory developments impacting alternative investment fund managers and management companies.
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify and communicate emerging regulatory risks and opportunities.
- Provide expert guidance on escalations from first line teams on various regulatory matters such as but not limited to suspicious activities and complex regulatory queries.- Draft, review, and update regulatory policies to ensure compliance with Luxembourg and global requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on regulatory risk to boards and regional committees, highlighting key issues and recommendations.
Monitoring and Assurance
- Assess the regulatory and compliance risks the entity is facing and ensure that the regulatory monitoring plan is aligned
- Perform the regulatory and compliance monitoring and testing of systems, processes and tools, and issue appropriate observation and recommendation based on evidenced findings.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing appropriate support and ensuring a regular follow-up of issued recommendations.
Stakeholder engagement
- Act as the CSSF’s appointed Compliance Officer as per the CSSF Circular 18/698, notably by ensuring that all regulatory requirements and reporting are met at all times.
- Collaborate closely with regulatory and business stakeholders in Luxembourg and globally.
- Communicate effectively with regulatory bodies and internal committees.
- Promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and ethical behaviour and clear 3 Lines of Defence across the organization.
DORA & ICT
- Oversee the local implementation and ongoing compliance with DORA and ICT‑related regulatory requirements, ensuring consistent application of group frameworks within the Luxembourg
AIFM/ManCo and timely escalation of material issues to Conducting Officers and the Board. - Perform independent local compliance oversight, challenge, and reporting on ICT and digital operational resilience risks, including review of material ICT incidents, regulatory notifications to the CSSF, and follow‑up of remediation actions.
Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages (e.g. French) are an asset.
- Strong analytical and regulatory technical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive professional relationships.
- Robust organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- High levels of integrity and professionalism.
- Skilled in identifying regulatory and risk-related challenges and developing innovative solutions.
- Attention to detail and capacity to take initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in in Economics, Finance, Law or Risk Management.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Regulatory, Compliance, Risk or Audit area within an alternative investment fund manager / management company.
- Strong understanding of Luxembourg regulatory framework for alternative investment fund managers and management companies (i.e. governance, AML, investor protection, rules of conduct, KYC,
delegation oversight ...). - Experience in drafting policies, managing monitoring program, and advising on complex regulatory matters.
- Capacity to interact and report to supervisory authorities and senior management.
