We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Chartered Accountant - Non-Executive OEC Permit Holder (Luxembourg) reporting to the Market Lead Vistra Global Services Luxembourg, this part-time, Permanent position is based in Luxembourg and offers local coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Luxembourg Accounting function and it’s growth.

 

 

Purpose of Role:              

 

To serve as the designated OEC responsible professional and business licence holder for the Luxembourg chartered accountancy entity. The role supports the business in obtaining and maintaining the business license as chartered accountant delivered by the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy, registering with the Order of Chartered Accountants (OEC) licence and in operating consistently with applicable professional, regulatory and governance requirements.

 

The role works in close partnership with the Market Lead VGS and local leadership. Day to day operational and commercial leadership is led by the Market Lead VGS, while this position provides visible, ongoing professional oversight and senior governance input. This is a part time function aligned to regulatory expectations and local practice.
 

 

Scope:

Regulatory & Professional Oversight: Provide ongoing professional oversight as the designated OEC responsible professional and business permit holder, supporting the business to operate in line with professional, ethical and regulatory expectations.

Governance & Risk: Offer independent judgement, constructive challenge and governance input on compliance, quality and professional matters, helping maintain strong controls and standards.

Engagement Model: Fulfil the role with regular presence in Luxembourg, ensuring sufficient visibility and involvement to meet regulatory expectations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Regulatory & Governance Responsibilities

  • Act as the Business Licence Holder for the OEC regulated firm.
  • Maintain compliance with OEC rules, regulatory obligations, integrity standards and governance requirements through active involvement in oversight and governance activities.
  • Strengthen quality control, professional ethics, risk management and internal control frameworks through review, guidance and escalation where appropriate.

 

Governance & Strategic Input

  • Provide senior governance input and constructive challenge on strategic direction, ensuring alignment with professional and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Market Lead VGS on governance, risk and compliance matters, supporting sustainable and compliant development of the business.

 

Technical & Professional Oversight

  • Act as a senior point of reference on professional and technical standards, including accounting and tax, where required.
  • Review and challenge complex or sensitive matters to support compliance with regulatory, accounting and professional standards and reinforce quality outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance on governance, reporting and risk topics.

 

Business Alignment & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Market Lead VGS and local leadership to align operating practices with regulatory and professional requirements.
  • Support the business in maintaining appropriate operational structures, controls and accountabilities to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Provide perspective on regulatory implications of business decisions and support the embedding of practical and sustainable governance practices.

 

Professional Accountability

  • Perform the role with professional integrity and independence consistent with OEC expectations.
  • Maintain clear accountability for professional activities carried out in the capacity of expert comptable within the entity.

Relevant Experience & Skills:

 

  • Proven experience as a qualified chartered accountant in Luxembourg.
  • Experience operating in a regulated professional environment with accountability for quality and compliance.
  • Experience interacting with regulators and/or professional bodies is an advantage.
     

 

Professional Qualifications:

 

Recognised Luxembourg Expert Comptable qualification (mandatory), including:

  • a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, management, business law or equivalent (issued by a higher education institution recognised by the State in which that establishment's head office is registered and, if needed, registered in the Luxembourg register of certificates)
  • a 3-year practical professional experience in the industry after having obtained the diploma, at least one year of which was spent with a duly-established chartered accountant;
  • a certificate of successful completion of the aptitude test concluding the additional training course for candidate registered auditors and chartered accountants organised by the University of Luxembourg.

 

Registered with the Ordre des Experts Comptables and in good standing.

Additional Context


This is a non executive, part time position with an important role in supporting the firm’s regulatory standing, professional integrity and quality outcomes, working alongside the Market Lead VGS and local leadership.

The role is suited to an experienced and credible individual who brings visible engagement, sound judgement and ongoing professional oversight, contributing to a strong and compliant Luxembourg chartered accountancy platform in line with OEC expectations.

Employment in this role will require provision of a criminal record extract where required for regulatory, business licensing or compliance purposes and permitted under applicable law.
