We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Valuation Officer . Reporting to the Manager of Department, this full-time and permanent position is based in Luxembourg and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Operations department and its’ growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for: the asset valuation models analysis and review of the underlying assets of the AIFs that have been assigned to her/his by the valuation manager or according to the AIFM business requirements and needs;
  • Perform the oversight of the AIFs financial statements production (AIF nav oversight) in compliance with the AIFs constitutional documents (LPAs and PPM), the AIFM and AIF valuation policy under the supervision of the valuation manager;
  • Attend the AIFs valuation committees;
  • in charge of the production of the valuation reports to be presented to the attention of the AIF valuation committee under the supervision of the valuation manager including the preparation of the approval supporting documentation including minutes;
  • Escalate valuation process/policy and any other breaches to the valuation manager;
  • Support the valuation manager in the design, review, test and implementation of the AIF valuation policies;
  • Be the main point of contact in relation to operational aspects and considerations of the AIF underlying assets valuations process;
  • Draft reports for the AIF Board meetings;
  • Prepare and automatise relevant market data analysis to support valuation, portfolio and risk management analysis in the performance of their functions where applicable
  • Develop a thorough industry knowledge and understanding of the clients business and remain up to date on the following topics:
    • Valuation techniques
  • Market practices
  • Legal and regulatory changes

 

Attributes/Technical Skills:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients, third party service providers
  • Be a team player and be supportive towards your colleagues
  • Take initiative by proactively following-up on daily matters
  • Anticipate potential queries and issues. Address these queries in a timely manner by informing the valuation manager and/or any other Vistra Fund Management Officer
  • Maintain communication with clients
  • Ensure that client deadlines are met
  • Adhere to internal procedures at all times
  • Build up an in-depth knowledge of your portfolio of clients and valuation methodologies used for various structures

 

Key requirement:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a professional services firm (preferably within the area of accounting, auditing, controlling or valuation)
  • Experience in Alternative Investment strategies such as private equity, real estate, debt, infrastructure and fund of funds would be an asset
  • Good communication and organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive with a client service orientated attitude
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently and as a member of a team
  • Finance and/or Economics education at University level
