We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Valuation Analyst. Reporting to the Conducting Officer, this full-time and permanent position is based in Luxembourg and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Department and its’ growth.

 

Key responsibilities:
We are looking for a Valuation Analyst to join our fast-growing, dynamic and entrepreneurial 3rd party Super Management Company based in Luxembourg. This role would suit an agile and dynamic individual with strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.

As a Valuation Analyst you have a strong educational background enabling you to understand how asset valuations are performed and some record of hands-on experience of private assets valuation. You require minimal supervision to perform full valuation assignments or otherwise verify accuracy of valuation marks proposed by portfolio managers using various approaches.

The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of prior valuation experience from consulting, corporate, audit, or banking background.

  • Under manager’s supervision, perform the valuation of private equity, private debt and other hard to value assets or otherwise verify accuracy of valuation marks proposed by portfolio managers using various approaches.
  • Contribute to the development of a robust valuation governance framework capable of addressing key valuation risks and demonstrating strict compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Developing and communicating complex financial analysis in a clear, concise and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers in corporate finance and valuation projects
  • Financial modelling and valuation of less liquid assets using market best practices (DCF, transactional and trading multiples)
  • Manage the credit analysis and debt valuation of private debt instruments 
  • Prepare valuation memos and presentations summarizing analysis and findings
  • Ensuring quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail
  • Liaising and coordinate with clients and service providers
  • Liaise with the Valuation Managers and contribute to regular reports, maintain documentation, identify potential breaches and escalate when required
  • Contribute to quarterly fund Boards, notably valuation inputs & findings if any


Key requirements

  • Good understanding of valuation governance process and internal controls to maintain sufficient records of the valuation process and conclusions.
  • Analytical skills and understanding of mathematical finance and financial modelling skills
  • Ability to prepare high quality Word and PowerPoint reports
  • Fluency in English, any additional European language will be an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others
  • Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple commitments
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Solution-driven and results-oriented, problem-solving attitude, constructive Client oriented mindset
  • Proficiency with financial research tools and Databases would be an asset (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Refinitiv)
  • Demonstrated experience with managing of day-to-day aspects of client relationships
  • 1 to 2 years hands-on experience in valuation/corporate finance in alternative investments
  • Investment banking, corporate finance advisory, leveraged finance or Big4 advisory/audit valuations teams
  • University degree in finance or economics
  • CFA qualification or CFA Level 1 completion would be an asset
