We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Tax and Corporate Accounting Manager in our Alternative Investments business. Reporting to the Accounting (Private Equity Funds) Director, this full-time and permanent position is based in Dallas or Delaware and offers the opportunity to expand your tax and accounting experience, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Alternative Investments business and its' growth.    

 

You will oversee a small team of onshore and offshore accountants, in delivering tax-related duties and corporate financial accounting tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, timely filing of tax obligations, managing payment of vendor invoices on behalf of clients, and maintaining bookkeeping and corporate accounts on managed entities. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in tax and financial accounting to support our clients' overall financial objectives.

The ideal candidate must have relevant experience; possess an entrepreneurial perspective, sound judgment, excellent analytical skills, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.  This candidate will play a pivotal role in helping direct and shape the US tax and accounting service delivery of a large, global mandate.

 

Key Responsibilities  

                     

  • Prepare and review corporation tax returns and computations, together with supporting schedules, making necessary postings in the management accounts.
  • Liaise with clients' tax advisor to provide supporting detail to enable the preparation of final tax returns and supporting notes to financial statements.
  • Produce final form tax notes and tax returns.
  • Maintain tax calendar to manage all clients' tax filing obligations, deliver filing of tax returns, including notifying client of taxes owed and payment dates.
  • Manage and assist with responding to tax claims and notices, audits, and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Responsible for the administration, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for various US and Canadian companies, maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Review and preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, including interim accounts (as necessary).
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaise with client and vendors to gather financial data required for bookkeeping.
  • Oversee processing of vendor invoice payments within client bank accounts.

 

Relevant Experience & Skills      

                           

  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Direct Experience managing resources.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think strategically for client service delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, resourcefulness, and independent thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Dedication to maintaining the highest ethical standards, client confidentiality, and promoting accurate data capture.
  • Proactive and client service-oriented attitude, adaptable team player with a flexible and hands-on approach

 

Professional Qualifications    

                   

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA preferred; Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred
  • 7+ years of work experience in Tax and Corporate Accounting position with a CPA/financial services firm.

 

Company Benefits: 

 

  • Base salary $102,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
