Key responsibilities: 

Payroll Delivery

  • Support end‑to‑end processing of UK payrolls in line with agreed payroll calendars and procedures
  • Process payroll inputs including starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, expenses and statutory payments
  • Review payroll calculations and outputs to ensure accuracy prior to submission and approval
  • Meet strict payroll deadlines and escalate issues where delivery risks arise

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Support compliance with UK PAYE, NIC and statutory payments legislation
  • Assist with RTI submissions (FPS and EPS) to HMRC
  • Support year‑end payroll activity including P60s.
  • Assist with auto‑enrolment pension duties

Systems & Controls

  • Maintain accurate employee payroll data within payroll systems and Vistra platforms
  • Ensure payroll documentation is complete, properly stored and audit‑ready
  • Adhere to Vistra internal controls, approval workflows and data protection requirements

Client & Stakeholder Support

  • Respond to payroll queries from clients, employees and internal stakeholders professionally and within agreed SLAs
  • Liaise with GDH teams to support UK payroll delivery
  • Escalate payroll risks, errors or delays to the Payroll Manager as appropriate

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow documented payroll procedures and quality assurance standards
  • Support internal and external payroll audits as required
  • Contribute to process improvement, standardisation and new client onboarding

Experience;

Essential

  • Experience working in a UK payroll environment (in‑house or payroll bureau)
  • Working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a regulated environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience with payroll systems such as IRIS IPP, Sage or similar
  • Experience delivering payroll for multiple entities or clients
