Senior Manager - Tax Compliance

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Managing Consultant. Reporting to Head of Tax, this full-time and permanent position is based in Kuala Lumpur and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our investor services and its’ growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Client Management:

• Lead and manage multiple client engagements in the areas of tax advisory, compliance, and planning.

• Provide high-quality tax advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including multinational corporations, local enterprises, and high-net-worth individuals.

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for tax-related matters.

• Technical Expertise:

• Stay updated on Malaysian tax laws, regulations, and practices, and communicate relevant changes to clients and internal teams.

• Conduct thorough research and analysis of complex tax issues, providing innovative and practical solutions.

• Review and ensure accurate and timely filing of various tax returns and compliance documents.

• Leadership and Team Development:

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting continuous improvement and excellence.

• Manage team performance, including conducting performance reviews and setting goals.

• Business Development:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth and expansion of the tax advisory practice.

• Develop and deliver proposals, presentations, and thought leadership materials to prospective clients.

• Participate in networking events and industry forums to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation.

• Strategic Planning:

• Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the tax advisory practice.

• Collaborate with other departments and service lines to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

• Monitor and manage engagement budgets, ensuring profitability and efficiency.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTIM) is highly desirable.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax advisory services, with a strong track record in a senior role.

• Deep understanding of Malaysian tax laws and regulations, with experience in cross-border tax issues being an advantage.

• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and projects simultaneously.

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to mentoring and developing talent.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

• Demonstrated business development skills, with a track record of successfully securing new clients and engagements.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to client service.
