Senior HR & Payroll Specialist

The Senior HR & Payroll Specialist is a key member of the team responsible for managing complex HR and payroll processes. This expert ensures the efficient and accurate processing of payroll and works independently. In this role, they contribute to ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, developing HR strategies, and providing advisory services to clients and colleagues.

They are also actively involved in the onboarding and implementation of new clients and in optimizing processes for existing ones. The Senior Specialist is capable of managing large clients, including those with a high volume of payslips, and ensures high-quality service delivery under pressure.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the entire payroll process for a wide range of clients and employees (calculation of salaries, bonuses, allowances, sickness benefits, etc.)
  • Administer and implement HR and payroll tasks in accordance with current legislation
  • Independently implement new clients (including clients with a large number of employees)
  • Manage and optimize HR and payroll processes to streamline administrative tasks
  • Provide expert support and training for less experienced colleagues in HR and payroll processes
  • Communicate with external entities such as health insurance companies, the Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSZ), tax authorities, and audit firms
  • Coordinate processes related to employment, from onboarding to termination
  • Independently process annual tax settlements and other year-end reports, including more complex operations
  • Analyze and report key payroll and HR indicators to management
  • Create and implement HR policies and directives in the area of payroll and personnel management
  • Actively participate in HR projects, including ensuring compliance and implementing new HR tools and software solutions
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of HR systems and process improvements in compensation and benefits

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Secondary or higher education (ideally in economics or human resources)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar HR and payroll role
  • Expert knowledge of payroll and labor law legislation in the Czech Republic
  • Proven experience in managing payroll processes
  • Experience with the implementation and administration of HR systems (e.g., SAP, Helios Inuvio, OK Mzdy, HR portals, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and other analytical tools
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to resolve complex personnel and payroll situations
  • High sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a results-oriented approach
  • Advanced English skills – daily communication with international teams, including presentations and reporting
