We are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Services Accountant Real Estate. You will deliver accounting services and advice to Real Estate firms. This sector specific Accounting Team consists of 7 accountants and a manager. Together with the other accountants in the team, you will provide the best service to your client portfolio in terms of ensuring the integrity of accounting records, providing customised interim reports, assisting on complex client transactions and coordinating the VAT and CIT calculations with the Tax Advisor. As Senior Accountant in the team, you work independently, are open to leading/participating in projects and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare/Review Financial Statements;
  • Prepare/Review bookkeeping (accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, capital contributions, intangibles, according to Dutch GAAP but also IFRS principles);
  • Review and/or prepare the (dividend) distributions and capital contribution requests;
  • Review (and preparation) of Client specific monthly/quarterly reporting;
  • Review and coordinate CIT & VAT returns;
  • Prepare an audit file and provide assistance with statutory audits;
  • Safeguard transaction monitoring requirements;
  • Prepare CFI reports for Dutch Central Bank
  • Maintaining contact with shareholders, clients, banks, accountants and other external and relevant parties;
  • Ensure delivery of other services as required together with the other teams (e.g. Bank Account openings, Tax registrations etc.);
  • Work in partnership with Global Service Center [GSC] to ensure end to end delivery for the client and support and coach them as needed; 
  • Coach Junior and Medior Financial Services Accountants.

 

Key Requirements

  • Expert level of Dutch GAAP;
  • Preparation of financial statements and consolidation;
  • Computerized accounting packages;
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and legislation (Book 2, Title 9) as well as tax and compliance aspects;
  • Knowledge of IFRS is a pre;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, verbally and written;
  • Sound knowledge of ViewPoint and WorkSite;
  • Sound knowledge of compliance standards;
  • 5 - 7 years of experience (audit or accounting);
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing / coaching a small (junior) finance team;
  • Completed Bachelor or Master specialization in Finance (e.g. Accountancy, Business Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy or Fiscal economics).
