We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Viewpoint DevOps Specialist.

 

Purpose of Role

The Viewpoint DevOps Specialist at Vistra will serve as the pivotal link between technology and the wider business, by optimizing the ViewPoint system landscape within Vistra. The role will support the development and OpsTech teams by assisting in the implementation, management and maintenance of Viewpoint application, pipelines and infrastructure as a senior member of the team.

You will work closely with DevOps engineers, Developers, Infrastructure, Scrum Master and Analysts,to ensure efficient software delivery and system reliability.

 

About the Operations Technology Team

The Operations Technology team acts as the operations business owner for key Service Delivery applications across Corporate & Fund Services. Corporate Services domain areas include Entity Management, Document Management Systems (DMS), Client KYC and Screening, Client Regulatory Filings, Client Accounting and Payments and Productivity apps such as Workflow Management. We translate commercial and market business requirements into actionable needs and executable application roadmaps. The team is responsible for executing the Service Delivery application strategy, deploying enhancements, and application implementation.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop and support the Viewpoint application
  • System maintenance: This includes but not limited to
    • Software Installation
    • System Upgrade Deployment & Testing
    • Promotion of changes (configuration or new) across the different environments
  • Configuration Management: Ensure all configuration items are
    • Effectively developed & deployed
    • centrally managed, tracked and avoid configuration drift. 
  • Drive and implement DevOps best practices to define, streamline, improve and enforce the efficiency of integration and deployment processes, developer productivity and system performance.  This includes but not limited to
    • Identify and automate recurring tasks and requests  
    • Standardise and Document development, upgrade and its deployment processes
    • Provide technical guidance to DevOps Team as senior member of team
    • Continuous Integration to automate, merge and test code
    • Continuous delivery to build, test and deploy to test & production environments in controlled, quality and efficient manner
    • Version Control: Ability to track & review revisions, change history, merge code changes, roll back, handle conflicts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
    • Work closely with Infrastructure team to ensure that the system components are running smoothly and efficiently.
    • Collaborate with Development team, QA team, Scrum Master to ensure seamless service delivery and implement DevOps best practices & processes
    • Collaborate with Analysts and/or Business on prioritization and sequencing with practical consideration to benefits, costs, resourcing, dependencies, Technology/Business strategy, risk, complexity, governance, architectural integrity and technical fit with other domain / system changes.
    • Effectively present technical information that is easily digestible by business users, in a clear and concise manner.
  • SDLC / Sprint process: This includes both BAU and project
    • Drive and deliver on data migration projects, onboarding of new clients/business acquisitions, system rationalisation
    • Deliver on BAU new business requirement or enhancement requests via Agile
    • Support Quality Acceptance process
    • Support User Acceptance Testing with end users and IT

Relevant Experience and Skills

  • Strong Technical Expertise:  Direct knowledge of Viewpoint and in Entity Management, Document Management System, Time Recording, Invoicing/Accounting.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud platforms, DevOps practices and Python.
  • Familiar with available technologies relevant to the component(s) ideally S4/Hana and all associated products
  • DevOps Experience: Demonstrated track record in DevOps roles, successfully implementing and managing DevOps and its best practices in a complex environment
  • Client Service Knowledge: Knowledge of the entity management client service offering, products, operational processes, and controls is a plus.
  • Change management: Ability to drive and operate within a multinational and matrixed financial services group with controls
  • Planning and Organization: Effective planning and organizational skills to manage competing time and priorities.
  • Problem-Solving: Good problem-solving skills with the ability to contribute meaningfully to solution design, and the ability to challenge the business requirements and technical specifications when necessary

Essential Qualifications

  • Viewpoint knowledge / experience
    • Strong understanding and ‘how-tos’ of the configuration, processes, and data
    • Experience in System maintenance (e.g. software Installation, Upgrade deployment & testing, promotion of changes across the different environments)
  • Experienced knowledge of MS-SQL and RDS
  • Development Practices: High level of familiarity with standard development practices and processes
  • Experience in developing scripts and processes to meet business requirements.
  • Global Experience: Direct experience of working with global technical teams and applications in a services-based organization.
  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in written and oral English.

                          

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field or comparable working experience.
