We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Associate – Client Acceptance, based in Mumbai office. This full-time and permanent position is based in India and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Client Acceptance Process and its’ growth.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Performing the due diligence on new Clients, requesting the KYC information, documentation, review and verification of received documentation and making an analytical risk assessment for new Clients;
  • Thoroughly document the research and analysis related to the Client’s nature of business, geographies, activities, Sources of Wealth / Funds, Corporate Structure, Political exposure, documentation of CDD and negative news screening etc.  for an audience that includes Management, Regulators, Internal Audit, Senior Managers and Internal Compliance;
  • Periodical review of KYC records as to completeness, including verifying that due diligence has been performed and that standards are complied with; also that the files and risk assessments are current and up to date;
  • Investigating high risk clients and reporting where necessary, including Politically Exposed Persons, and obtaining all necessary documentation to complete the client file;
  • Executing Screening Deployed hits & performing Ad hoc screening;
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with relevant internal and external parties to obtain KYC documents;
  • Review and thoroughly understand policies and procedures arising during the client onboarding and review process, in order to improve the customer's experience and organization's operations and additionally address local regulatory requirements;
  • Evaluate client file for changes, maintain records up to date, perform risk analysis' and mitigate risks.
  • Manage competing priorities and establish clear expectations for stakeholders;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a timely, accurate and smooth process during the client lifecycle;
  • Appropriately escalate issues to management, compliance, and the business;
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with policy.

Key requirements

  • Must be a graduate, degree from educational background preferably in the fields of legal, tax and/or compliance, AML, KYC regulations;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and experience with documenting processes and data verification;
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully with globally distributed teams;
  • Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions;
  • Strong collaboration skills;
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and manage expectations;
  • Strong verbal communication including comfort in communicating with other departments and third parties. Clear written communication skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Experienced with Third party outsourcing business model.
  • 2-5 years’ relevant experience with a corporate service provider in a similar Client acceptance / onboarding or KYC process management;
  • Familiarity with various legal entity types, understands and articulate ownership chains and organizational structures of varying complexity;
  • Understanding the AML, Customer acceptance and KYC requirements and
  • knowledge of where to look for the information relating the client, ultimate beneficial owners, to conduct the due diligence;
  • Prior experience in a shared service centre or similar set-up is required.
  • Professional qualification – Graduate/MBA;
  • Compliance or AML centric professional qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Microsoft office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Viewpoint (preferably, if not present, can be trained);
  • Worksite (preferably, if not present, can be trained).
  • English, although knowledge of any European languages would be advantageous.
