We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Associate, Corporate and Fiduciary. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate and Fiduciary, this full-time and permanent position is based in United Kingdom London and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Corporate Department and it’s growth.
Purpose of Role
- Assist the Manager with the management and daily administration of a complex portfolio of Corporate and Fund clients involved in commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions, development, disposal) who subscribe to Vistra’s fiduciary services, with a high degree of independence.
- Retain clients and ensure a positive working relationship.
- Help the overall team and commercial functions source new clients.
- Take on responsibility for the management of the debtors in the portfolio of clients.
Scope
This role will be part of a closeknit team of 15 individuals within our broader Corporate and Fiduciary department, providing specialist fiduciary services to a varied client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer own portfolio of international Corporate and Funds clients, delivering top-class fiduciary and fully-managed services.
- Prepare overview and coordinate execution of legal documents including purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan agreements, and development contracts.
- Join the Vistra bank signatory panel as a B authorised signatory, ensuring proper processes and controls are delivered in regards to payment processing to and from client bank accounts.
- Liaise confidently with senior management concerning client operations, where directorship and/or trustee services are provided by Vistra
- Liaise with clients on a daily basis in a professional manner, ensuring that clients’ requests / queries are handled appropriately, ensuring clients are kept regularly informed of progress and costs
- Identify resources within Vistra and/or externally in relation to complex client issues, where required, to solve them promptly, efficiently and cost-effectively, with the Manager’s and broader team’s assistance
- Confidently work alongside the Manager to ensure all KYC processes (from onboarding a client to terminating a relationship) are met, liaising with compliance and regulatory teams as required.
- Work toward achieving revenue targets set by Vistra for the overall team.
- Assist with the good and efficient management of the team’s working capital ensuring invoices for own client portfolio are raised promptly, following up on any outstanding invoices regularly, managing the debtor list proactively
- Help with identifying, promoting and developing commercial opportunities wherever possible, keeping clients informed of new products, services and changes in legislation
- Work closely with clients, identifying ways in which we can develop the relationship and ensure client retention
- Help the Manager in supporting and coaching more junior team members in respect of their client queries
- Carry out ad-hoc duties, as required by the Manager and the business
- Proactively participate in project work set by the business.
Attributes/Technical Skills
Essential:
- Experience of working in a fiduciary role with a strong understanding of cross-border dynamics affecting clients operating across several jurisdictions.
- Good understanding of Corporate and Fund structures and Limited Partnerships.
- Good understanding of basic UK financial and accounting concepts
- Good understanding of basic UK legal documentation and company secretarial services/duties
- Experience reviewing legal documents and identifying key terms and obligations.
- Experience in working with external service providers, professional and third parties from different countries
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Personable and enthusiastic team player, with a confident, professional and commercial outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Extremely strong attention to detail.
- Capable of working under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the U.K.
Desirable:
- Experience of attending board meetings and taking accurate and comprehensive minutes and circulating for review.
Relevant Experience
Essential:
- Minimum two years’ experience in a client facing role within a trustee / corporate service provider
- Understanding of SPVs and holding structures in real estate.
- Computer literate with specifically strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Desirable:
- Experience working with legal entities involved in property investment or development.
Education and Professional Qualification
Essential:
- Educated to degree level and/or a substantial work experience in client relations
Desirable:
- STEP or ICSA qualification desirable
