Senior Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in Luxembourg and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Operations and its’ growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administration, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for various Luxembourg companies.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings.
- Prepare interim accounts on behalf of the client as necessary.
- Liaise and interact with clients, other offices and client advisors, in order to prepare the financial statements.
- Support the audit of financial statements (where required).
- Support the preparation of VAT / CIT returns (where required).
- Support the preparation of financial reports (LUX GAAP, US GAAP or IFRS) (where required).
- Record the working hours/client in the time billing system according to the objectives set.
As a senior, we expect you to coach, develop and serve as a role model for members of your team:
- Share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues.
- Coach and review the work of other team members.
- Be a buddy for new joiners in the team, in order to train and guide them.
Key requirements:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties including lawyers, bankers, tax advisors and notaries.
- Be a team player and be supportive towards your colleagues.
- Take initiative by proactively following up on daily matters.
- Anticipate potential queries and issues. Address these queries in a timely manner by informing the responsible Senior Manager, Accountant and/or Relationship Manager.
- Be a role model to less senior colleagues in terms of professionalism and behaviour.
- Ensure that client deadlines are met.
- Adhere to internal procedures at all times.
- Build up an in-depth knowledge of your portfolio of clients, i.e. background, purpose and structure.
- Strong Knowledge of LuxGaap, (IFRS, Consolidation and/or USGaap would be an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with a professional services firm.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Proactive with a client service orientated attitude.
- Ability to develop and grow our commercial business activity.
- Ability to solve problems, work independently and as a member of a team.
- University degree in Accounting/Finance, (ACCA-qualified or part qualified would be a distinct advantage).
