We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Scrum Master, Global Employment Services (Global Payroll). Reporting to the Digital Product Manager, Global Employment Services, this full-time and permanent position is based in Mumbai, India and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Digital Technology department and its’ growth.

 

Scope                                    

This role has no direct reports and will work with various departments and functions, across all regions on the agreed objectives. Functions include Payroll, Commercial, Risk, Legal, Finance, Tax, Compliance, HR, Operations, and Technology.

Besides possible other projects or platforms, the primary project you will be working on involves the project planning, execution, monitoring and control of the product development of the Overseas Connect platform.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Apply Scrum Framework: Act as a bridge between product owners and development teams during large projects. Help software development teams apply the Scrum framework effectively.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project scope and timelines. Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups. Manage the scope content, activity planning and team capacity plan in Atlassian platform. Propose and implement improvements to project methodologies and tools where appropriate .
  • Ensures project risks are identified, monitored and mitigation plan is created for each risk.
  • Team Coaching: Coach team members in Agile methodologies. Facilitate internal communication and collaboration.
  • Reporting: Review time sheets from the team and signal any discrepancies. Prepare management reporting as per defined requirements and delivery moments
  • Backlog Management: Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
  • Conflict Resolution: Manage project escalations. Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that hinder team progress.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Scrum Maturity: Guide development teams toward higher Scrum maturity.
  • Product Ownership: Help create self-organizing teams that take ownership of the product.
  • Ensure adherence to company’s change framework, governance and project management standards and templates.
  • Drive end-to-end process (re)design and performance improvement through the identification and elimination of waste (non-value-added activities).
  • Support and facilitate process mapping workshops or interviews with relevant stakeholders to capture As Is processes and define the To Be Processes.
  • Support business in documenting their detailed process steps in a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Create and deliver (Agile) project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Identify resources and assign responsibilities (in Jira). Manage capacity planning and day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s)

Key requirements:

  • Scrum Knowledge: Excellent understanding of the Scrum framework, including artifacts and techniques (e.g., definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement).
  • Agile Familiarity: Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong communication, servant leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational skills to manage project timelines effectively.
  • Expert knowledge of Jira Project Management tool set (and other Atlassian apps)
  • Good Knowledge of MS Project, MS Project Online and/or Monday.com
  • Must have excellent skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in written and oral English.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, excellent follow through skills and ability to work independently and motivate a team.
  • Capability to proactively determine next steps and lead stakeholders to a consensus
  • Very good team player with high motivation and positive work attitude.
  • 4+ years of work experience in a Scrum Master capacity in the field of software development.
  • Proven experience with project management techniques such as Agile, Earned value management, Critical path, Waterfall and/or Kanban, etc.
  • Demonstratable this experience in project managing SAAS development projects to support business goals, using Atlassian (Jira) tools
  • The following qualifications are considered a plus for this role:
  • Domain experience of HR and (Global) Payroll data integration, Employment processes, Client facing Operations and Service Delivery
  • Experience with installation and configuration of Jira (plug-ins) for project management
  • Educated to degree standard (Bachelor, Masters or equivalent), preferably in a business, finance or computer science discipline.
  • Project management qualification such as PMP, Prince2 or PMI
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe certification preferred.
  • Relevant business specific qualifications and memberships
  • Operational and business analysis qualifications (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
