We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Product Manager Multi-Country Payroll.  This  full-time and permanent position Can be based in the UK or Europe and offers Global coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Payroll business and its growth. 

 


Purpose of the Role:

 

 
The Product Manager – Multi-Country Payroll Technology is responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of the organisation’s global payroll platform. This role is the critical link between customers, operations, commercial teams, and product development — ensuring the platform evolves to deliver customer value, operational excellence, and commercial growth, with a particular focus on scalability and performance as foundational requirements.

 

The Product Manager will establish a clear product vision and roadmap, balancing customer needs, market opportunities, competitive positioning, and technical capabilities — while ensuring alignment across the EMEA region (inc. UK & Ireland) and the broader global organisation.
Success will be measured by the ability to align Development, Operations, Commercial, Customer Success, and Leadership around a cohesive product strategy that supports both current business objectives and long-term growth ambitions.

 


Key Responsibilities:

 

Product Strategy & Vision

 

  • Define, own, and communicate the strategic vision for the Multi-Country Payroll platform.
  • Develop and maintain a short, medium, and long-term product roadmap that supports organisational growth objectives.
  • Establish clear product priorities aligned to customer needs, market opportunities, operational requirements, and commercial goals.
  • Build business cases and recommendations to support investment decisions and product evolution.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between Development, Operations, Commercial, Customer Success, and Marketing.
  • Ensure roadmap priorities balance customer requirements, operational efficiency opportunities, commercial growth objectives, and technical feasibility.
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder engagement to obtain input, drive collaboration, and achieve consensus on key priorities. — Success measure: Stakeholder alignment score 

 

Customer & Market Intelligence

 

  • Act as the voice of the customer within the product management process.
  • Gather and interpret feedback from customers, prospects, implementation teams, customer success teams, and sales organisations.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, customer expectations, and competitive developments within the payroll and HR technology landscape.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen differentiation, enhance customer experience, and create competitive advantage.

 

Data-Driven Product Decisions

 

  • Leverage product analytics, usage telemetry, and adoption data to inform prioritisation and validate hypotheses.
  • Define and track key product metrics (adoption, engagement, retention, time-to-value) to measure feature success.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research methods to identify opportunities and validate product direction.
  • Product Delivery & Development Partnership
  • Work closely with Product Development, Engineering, Architecture, and Delivery teams to translate strategy into a clear set of product road map milestones.
  • Provide ongoing direction and clarity on priorities, requirements, and expected outcomes from the commercial and operational viewpoints.
  • Ensure successful delivery of roadmap initiatives, maintaining a critical focus on platform scalability and performance, while balancing innovation, technical debt, and compliance requirements.
  • Foster a “one team” approach to product planning and execution, ensuring all stakeholders are working towards shared outcomes.

 

Operational Performance & Efficiency

 

  • Partner with Operations teams to understand service delivery challenges, process inefficiencies, and scalability requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and operational improvements through technology enablement.

 

Market Standards & Security Infrastructure

 

  • Maintain awareness of data protection, privacy, and security frameworks (GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001) relevant to global payroll platforms, ensuring the product roadmap reflects enterprise customer expectations and supports relevant certification and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Security teams to embed applicable regulatory standards and governance requirements into product planning and prioritisation.

 

Commercial Enablement, Go-to-Market & Market Positioning

 

  • Partner with Sales, Pre-Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to ensure the product strategy is effectively translated into market-facing value propositions. — Success measure: Product-influenced pipeline ($): target defined per annum with Commercial.
  • Develop compelling product narratives that clearly articulate customer outcomes, competitive differentiation, and platform capabilities.
  • Enable commercial teams with product training, demonstrations, battlecards, competitive intelligence, and the tools and messaging needed to position the platform effectively in the market.
  • Participate in strategic customer engagements, executive presentations, and major sales opportunities where product expertise is required.
  • Partner with Marketing to strengthen platform awareness and positioning through thought leadership, customer success stories, product launches, and analyst engagement — ensuring messaging consistently reflects the product strategy and competitive strengths.
  • Help establish the platform as a market-leading global payroll solution.
  • Engage with industry analysts to ensure compelling product messaging and plans are clearly communicated, and to reinforce differentiation against competitors.

Experience & Qualifications

 

 

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in Product Management within SaaS, B2B, or client-centric technology environments; backgrounds in Payroll, HR Technology, Workforce Solutions, FinTech, or Enterprise Software are valued but not required.
  • Demonstrable experience with SaaS platforms and B2B, client-centric product environments.
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of how product strategy supports revenue growth and customer acquisition.
  • Experience engaging directly with customers to gather requirements and understand market needs.
  • Proficiency with product analytics tools and data-driven decision-making methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear strategic priorities.

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience within Multi-Country Payroll, Global Payroll, HCM, Workforce Administration, or Employer Services.
  • Knowledge of international payroll operations, tax legislation, and related regulatory environments (GDPR, SOX, local statutory reporting).
  • Experience supporting product marketing, pre-sales, and sales enablement activities.
  • Exposure to large-scale SaaS platforms and enterprise customer environments.
  • Familiarity with API-first architectures, data modelling, and integration patterns (technical depth to engage credibly with Engineering without hands-on coding requirement).
  • Product management certification (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AI tools, AI-assisted product development practices, or emerging AI/ML technologies relevant to payroll and HR platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product planning tools such as Jira (preferred, not required).

 

 

Technical Knowledge (Awareness Level)

 

  • The role does not require hands-on engineering skills, but the successful candidate should demonstrate sufficient technical literacy to:
  • Engage credibly with Engineering and Architecture teams on feasibility and trade-offs.
  • Understand API-based integrations, data flows, and platform architecture at a conceptual level.
  • Evaluate technical debt, scalability, and performance considerations as critical factors in prioritisation decisions.
  • Interpret product analytics dashboards and usage data independently.

Education & Professional Qualifications
