Our opportunity for you:

Vistra is currently recruiting for a Director of Investor Services Alternative Investments – North America (AI-NA) role responsible for providing departmental leadership and maintaining the overall Investor Services strategies for North America for Vistra’s Fund Administration division.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management/Operations:

  • Responsible for providing strategic departmental leadership and maintaining, managing, and overseeing all aspects of the Investor Services (IS) strategies for North America
  • Responsible for staff across North America located in New York, Dallas and Toronto (Canada)
  • Responsible for the management and support, for both domestic and offshore hedge funds, Private Equity funds, Real Estate Funds and Venture Capitalist funds
  • Participate in Board of Directors and Due Diligence meetings to ensure a sound control environment and corporate governance for U.S. Domestic and Cayman domiciled funds
  • Develop and implement clear and concise department operational procedures, internal controls and guidelines for North America IS team
  • Development of staff including appraising performance, assessing training requirements and career developments to ensure staff provides the highest level of client service
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to procedures with ongoing monitoring of control to mitigate risk
  • Integrate new business into the department by reviewing draft confidential operating memoranda and providing comments to legal counsel
  • Responsible for resolution of complex client and investor issues
  • Be familiar with and can interpret USA, Canadian and Cayman Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know-You-Customer (KYC) policies and procedures. Act as an escalation point to team members for interpretation of AML and KYC procedures.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for Investor Services annual SOC 1 Audit
  • Organize lunch and learn to help enhance team member skills
  • Mentor direct reports and create opportunities for junior staff

 

Client Relationship Management:

  • Oversee client relationships for AI-NA to ensure client expectations are met and/or exceeded
  • Drive strategy and execution of process automation and reducing time spent on tasks
  • Provide technical support in analyzing and resolving issues, scheduling and monitoring workloads of the team
  • Serve as escalation manager for 60+ AI-NA clients and their respective fund structures
  • Assist clients with new fund launches, new product offering and ensure clients are aware of products and services that can help them meet their goals
  • Maintain and enhance client relationship by monitoring and developing client service level agreements and being in constant communication with client and service team to ensure client expectations are managed and firm meet agreed SLA
  • Maintain a positive, pro-active customer focus at all times

 

Legal/Compliance:

  • Ensure KYC/AML procedures are up to date to meet jurisdictional requirements
  • Interpret policy and answer questions for the Investor Services team
  • Represent IS in monthly Operational Risk meetings
  • Manage the KYC review for new client onboarding
  • Chair of the Vistra Business Committee which oversees all business functions for Vistra USA, LLC Alternative Investments Business
  • Responsible for Vistra client FATCA and CRS Reporting and any Ad-hoc duties/projects assigned by the Managing Director
  • Exercise due diligence and observe proper standards of market conduct when dealing with any regulators and other relevant stakeholders

 

Business Development/Revenue Generation:

  • Work closely and participate with Business Development and Senior Management teams on new business pitches and other client presentations
  • Assist the Sales team with new client proposals, pricing, head count requirement

 

Technology/Process Efficiencies:

  • Serve as the Investor Service subject matter expert for the firm’s strategic effort to build a proprietary Investor Reporting Platform, providing insights, managing requirements and assist in mapping global roll out

 

Client Banking & Treasury:

  • Serve as head of Treasury and Banking for North America
  • Serve as banking relationship manager for Vistra partner banks
  • Oversee and be responsible for opening Vistra AI client transaction and operating accounts
  • Serve as authorized signor on behalf of/in addition to the clients

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Investor Services or related management experience preferably gained through reputable professional services or financial services firm.
  • Minimum degree holder in relevant disciplines, advanced degree preferred.
  • Hands-on leadership style.
  • Strong Project Management, Compliance, and Operational knowledge.
  • Able to work in a multi-faceted environment with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build persuasive cases based on fact and through the strength of leadership ensure that all relevant stakeholders buy into the Divisional Strategy.
  • Credible and effective communicator, both written & verbal, with proven industry relationships.
  • Collaborative, strong team-player with demonstrable experience in working within a dynamic organization, its divisions and jurisdictions.
  • Excellent management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate operational teams.
  • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills to resolve client and regulatory inquiries.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to multiple client facing on-line portals a major plus
