We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Manager, Accounting Services. Reporting to the Director, this full-time and permanent position is based in the Amsterdam, Netherlands and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Funds and its’ growth.

Our opportunity for you

We have an exciting opportunity as a Manager, Accounting Services for our largest Private Equity client portfolio.

Scope

Together with the Business Development team, our Relationship Managers form Vistra’s commercial frontline and function as a linking pin between the client and our service delivery teams to provide end-to-end solutions to international clients. 

You will work together with the internal stakeholders to ensure high client satisfaction, solve complex questions and provide a full range of corporate services for your client entities 

Key responsibilities

•  Manage a team of Accounting professionals: responsibility for leadership and management of junior staff including training, development and encouragement of an environment of participation, motivation, teamwork and open communication; 
• In this role, the person takes the lead in ensuring that the team operates productively and efficiently, adheres to planning and timelines, and complies with all relevant regulatory and legal frameworks as well as internal policies and procedures.

• Ensure the application of current accounting standards (Dutch GAAP and IFRS) and best practice principles in the preparation of financial statements; 

• Provide assistance on complex client transactions with legal team and the relationship manager and/or director involved; 

• Assist the client with the audits; 

• Liaise with client representatives, intermediaries, lawyers and other professionals; 

• Coordinate, prepare and review of regulatory and statutory reporting; 

• Review tax returns and tax balances; 

• Record the working hours/client in the time billing system according to the objectives set 

• Assisting the Management Team for essential project work and internal administration when required. 

Attributes & Skills

• Expert-level knowledge of Dutch GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a strong advantage;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus; 

• Proactive team player with a strong focus on quality; persuasive, flexible, able to set priorities and meet deadlines; 

• Interest in the broader international financial landscape.

Relevant experience

•  6-7 years of experience with a professional services firm or a reputable audit firm; 

• Min. 1-2 years managing a team; 

• Accurate, flexible, hands-on and deliver their best work when facing a tight deadline; 

• Proactive with a client service orientated attitude; 

• Ability for multiple tasks requested at the same time and set priorities; 

• Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills

Education/Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (e.g.. Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration
