We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented KYC Remediation Project. The role is for a lead to own the end-to-end delivery of our client KYC remediation programme. This role sits at the intersection of financial crime compliance, project governance, and operational execution — demanding both regulatory depth and hands-on leadership of largescale remediation cycles.
The KYC Remediation Project Lead will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering a time-bound remediation exercise across existing client portfolios — ensuring full alignment with regulatory standards, internal policies, and agreed timelines. The role requires close collaboration with Compliance, Operations, Relationship Management, Legal, and Technology teams..
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full project lifecycle of the KYC remediation programme — scope, plan, resource allocation, milestones, and sign-off.
- Define and maintain the remediation framework including risk-tiering logic, prioritisation methodology, and quality standards.
- Manage a team of KYC analysts and reviewers, setting daily/weekly targets and conducting quality assurance on completed files.
- Liaise directly with Relationship Managers and front-office teams to chase outstanding client documentation and resolve blockers.
- Produce executive-level MI, dashboards, and progress reports for senior management and compliance committees.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory and internal audit enquiries relating to the remediation programme.
- Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement in workflows, tooling, and documentation standards.
- Ensure all remediated files meet current CDD/EDD requirements under applicable regulations (e.g. JMLSG, FinCEN, MAS, or equivalent).
- Coordinate with Technology and Data teams to leverage system capabilities and automate repetitive remediation tasks where possible.
- Escalate high-risk clients, PEPs, adverse media findings, and complex cases to the MLRO or senior compliance officers
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred
- AMS, ICA Certificate/Diploma in AML, or equivalent professional qualification
- Project management certification (Prince2, PMP, or Agile/Scrum)
- 10+ years of experience in AML/KYC or Financial Crime Compliance
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale remediation or refresh programmes
- Strong knowledge of CDD, EDD, PEP screening, and adverse media processes
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams
- Proficiency in KYC platforms (e.g. Fenergo, Worldcheck)
- Solid understanding of risk-based approach frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to produce concise MI and Board-ready reporting
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Experience in regulated financial services (banking, asset management, payments)
- Strong business English & Mandarin, both written and verbal.
