We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Specialist - FA to oversee our General Ledger, Record to Report (RTR), consolidation processes, and statutory reporting, including corporate income tax filing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing the month-end close process, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this full-time and permanent position based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia requires deep understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to excellence in financial management.

 

Key responsibilities:
 

General Ledger Management:

 

    • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Preparing and posting journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

 

  • Record to Report (RTR) Process:

 

    • Ensuring timely completion of monthly closing and accurate financial reporting.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and resolve discrepancies.

 

  • Financial Consolidation:

 

    • Assisting Finance Manager in consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Assisting Finance Manager in preparing consolidated financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, CAPEX and cash flow statements.
    • Assisting Finance Manager in analyzing and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances to ensure proper consolidation.

 

  • Bank Reconciliation:

 

    • Review and verify bank reconciliation statements for accuracy and completeness for all Malaysia legal entities.
    • Review and ensure no long outstanding unpresented cheques or unidentified deposits.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to gather necessary documentation and clarify discrepancies.

 

  • Financial/Statutory Reporting:

 

    • Assisting Finance Manager in preparing and filing statutory financial reports in compliance with local regulations (including BMM reporting, LOFSA, etc). and accounting standards.
    • Provide support during statutory audits, addressing audit inquiries and coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
    • Ensure that financial reports comply with company policies and procedures.

 

  • Corporate Income Tax Filing and Reporting:

 

    • Collaborate with internal and external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
    • Managing corporate income tax compliance and obligations, including timely filing of tax returns, tax estimates submission and related documentation.
    • Supporting statutory tax audits when needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional accounting certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with a focus on general ledger and RTR processes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
