Position Description

 

 

Key member of a team providing fund accounting and administration to real estate funds managed by leading fund managers.  This role will be the primary client contact for assigned client accounts.  The person will support the team’s manager to coordinate and execute client deliverables to achieve service standards.   This person will coach and review the work of junior staff and play a critical role in developing the team.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Responsible for the accounting and administration of private equity real estate funds and investment holding entities.   
  • Be the primary client service contact for assigned client accounts.  Monitor and respond promptly to client requests.  Strengthen client relationships.
  • Prepare stand-alone and consolidated management accounts and schedules.
  • Draft annual financial statements and related FRS/IFRS/US GAAP disclosures. Co-ordinate annual audits.
  • Process capital calls and distributions.  Perform management fee and incentive fee calculations
  • Calculate investor and fund NAV and prepare investor statements
  • Understand fund documents and ensure fund’s compliance with relevant terms. 
  • Monitor/adhere to regulatory deadlines for GST, tax and annual filings
  • Coordinate with colleagues in other Vistra offices on client deliverables
  • Coordinate with clients’ other service providers, including offshore accountants, asset/property managers, auditors and banks to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Review work of associates.  Provide constructive feedback and coach
  • Onboard funds to Yardi and coordinate with internal service team on client specific requirements.  Participate in implementation of new functionality.  
  • Undertake general administration and projects as assigned

Relevant Experience

 

 

  • 5 years of accounting experience including with private equity/real estate funds or in real estate industry
  • Prepared consolidated group accounts
  • Prior Big 4 auditor

 

Education/

Memberships

 

 

 

  • Degree in accountancy.  Professional accounting qualification
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS.  Knowledge of US GAAP would be an advantage

 

Computer Skills

 

 

  • Strong working knowledge of EXCEL and MS Word

 

Languages

 

 

  • English proficient
