We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Associate, Legal & Trust Management in the legal division. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Legal and Trust Management, this full-time and permanent position is based in Malaysia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to work within an internal legal services regulatory team providing in-house legal support and operation to the broader group of companies (“Group”).

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Keep abreast of technical developments in various regulatory compliance matters for example, economic substance, CRS FATCA, EU General Data Protection Regulation etc
  • Prepare internal guidance for the team
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations such as making regulatory filings on a timely basis
  • Ensure the accuracy of data being captured in the appropriate system
  • Attend and take minutes for the Group’s board meeting as and when required.
  • Draft and vet documents as and when required.
  • Comply with the Group’s internal control and audit standards
  • Participate in ad hoc projects or matters


Key requirements:

 

  • Degree in Law and/or Certificate in Legal Practice (or equivalent)
  • At least 1 year post-qualified experience
  • Strong written and spoken English level
  • Chinese proficiency is an added advantage
  • Detail oriented and able to work with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Develop interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders within the Group
  • Develop and maintain adequate regulatory compliance to deliver quality services to the Group
  • Culturally sensitive and experienced in dealing with multiple nationalities, business cultures.
  • Able to multitask and is meticulous
  • Inquisitive and self-motivated
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
