Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, this full-time and permanent position can be based in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary or the Czech Repulic allowing you to make a significant impact to our Global Payroll business and its’ growth.
Purpose of Role:
The Head of Global Payroll Pre Sales Specialists is responsible for leading and scaling a high performing global Pre Sales function that enables sustainable revenue growth across complex, multi country payroll opportunities. Acting as the senior payroll and solution authority, this role ensures that prospects clearly understand the value, feasibility, and differentiators of Vistra’s global payroll solutions.
The role combines deep domain expertise, commercial leadership, and people management, partnering closely with Sales, Product, and Delivery teams to drive winning deal strategies, executive level engagements, and seamless handovers from sales to implementation. In addition to direct deal support, the role is accountable for building a scalable, repeatable Pre Sales operating model that elevates quality, consistency, and impact across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre Sales Support
- Lead the Global Payroll Pre Sales function to support pipeline growth, deal strategy, and opportunity execution across the sales cycle.
- Partner with Sales Leadership and Account Executives to set win strategies, qualify opportunities, and prioritise Pre Sales engagement to maximise conversion.
- Own and drive a consistent approach to discovery (requirements, payroll structures, compliance challenges, operating model) and ensure high-quality outputs (workshops, documentation, solution narrative).
- Act as senior escalation point for complex global opportunities, bringing deep payroll domain expertise and commercial judgement to unblock deals.
Solution Design & Demonstrations
- Oversee and quality assure the design and presentation of tailored global payroll solutions for multi country and complex payroll environments.
- Sponsor and/or lead executive level demonstrations, technical presentations, and (where applicable) proof of concept activity to clearly articulate value, feasibility, and differentiators.
- Provide leadership for RFI/RFP and compliance/security questionnaires, ensuring responses are accurate, consistent, and aligned to the proposition and delivery capability.
- Establish a scalable demo approach across the region (use cases, storyboards, repeatable assets) to improve speed, consistency, and quality.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the senior subject matter expert for global payroll capability and positioning within CEE, translating complex payroll concepts into clear, value driven messages for technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Stay current on global payroll trends, regulatory changes, and market developments relevant to CEE and multi country delivery.
- Own and govern the Demo sandbox environment (or equivalent demo ecosystem), including access, data hygiene, scenario coverage, and readiness for Pre Sales and Sales user demos.
- Build a regional knowledge base of repeatable assets (discovery guides, demo scripts, competitor positioning, reference architectures) to raise capability across the team.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Implementation, and Customer Success to ensure solution feasibility, clear scope boundaries, and smooth commercial to delivery handovers.
- Establish mechanisms to feed structured prospect insights back into product roadmap considerations and enhancements.
- Lead enablement across Sales and adjacent teams (training on payroll capabilities, positioning, objection handling, demo readiness).
- Represent Pre Sales in regional go to market activity (partnering with Marketing and Sales Leadership on campaigns, events, and C suite engagement).
Attributes / Technical Skills:
- 10+ years’ experience in global payroll (operations, consulting, solutions) with strong multi country exposure; significant experience in customer facing pre sales / solutions consulting roles.
- Proven leadership of pre sales or solutions consulting teams (hiring, coaching, quality assurance, performance management)
- Strong knowledge of multi country payroll processes, statutory compliance, and payroll calculations; ability to explain complex regulatory topics clearly.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive level presentation capability; comfortable leading high stakes client sessions.
- Ability to translate customer needs into solution design, demo strategy, and high quality written responses for RFX and due diligence
Relevant Experience:
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, or payroll technology environments, including complex enterprise sales cycles.
- Strong track record responding to RFPs/RFIs and supporting enterprise level evaluations (including compliance/security questionnaires
- Familiarity with global employment models (EOR, PEO, contractors, direct employment) and their payroll implications.
- Knowledge of data privacy, security standards, and payroll compliance frameworks

Education & Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, Payroll, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Relevant payroll or professional certifications preferred (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, APA, CPP, or regional equivalents)
- Ongoing professional development in payroll legislation, global employment models, or payroll technology is highly desirable
- Advanced commercial, solution consulting, or leadership training is an advantage
