Vistra Netherlands has an exciting opportunity as a Global Client Operations & Governance Controller for our international client portfolio.

 

 

Scope

 

The successful candidate will serve as part of the team responsible for being the primary coordination point between the client, central accounting teams, and local service delivery teams across multiple jurisdictions.

 

This role requires strong accounting knowledge, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence across geographically dispersed teams.

 

While the position does not involve hands-on accounting responsibilities, a solid accounting background is essential to effectively interpret client requirements, challenge assumptions, facilitate discussions, and translate technical matters into actionable outcomes across stakeholders.

 

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a complex international environment and enjoys bringing together multiple teams to achieve common objectives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Client Relationship Management

 

  • Act as the primary day-to-day relationship manager for a complex multinational client.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Understand client objectives and ensure services are aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Facilitate regular governance and operational meetings.
  • Represent service delivery teams during client governance and steering committee meetings.

 

Service Delivery Coordination

 

  • Coordinate activities between centralized accounting teams and local service delivery teams across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor delivery of accounting, compliance, reporting, and operational obligations.
  • Ensure clear ownership and accountability for deliverables.
  • Drive timely resolution of operational issues and service delivery challenges.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional initiatives impacting the client structure.

 

Global Accounting and Compliance Oversight

 

  • Maintain oversight of monthly reporting processes across the client structure.
  • Ensure effective coordination between US GAAP reporting teams and local GAAP reporting teams.
  • Oversee the monthly reconciliation process between US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance obligations across all jurisdictions and ensure issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Promote consistency and quality across service delivery teams.

 

Governance and Stakeholder Management

 

  • Lead operational governance forums and working groups.
  • Prepare and present service updates, risk assessments, and action plans.
  • Coordinate communications between client stakeholders, central delivery centres, and local teams.
  • Manage escalations and conflicting priorities across stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure transparency regarding risks, issues, deadlines, and dependencies.

 

Process Improvement and Change Management

 

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Drive process standardization across jurisdictions where appropriate.
  • Support implementation of new client requirements, systems, and operating models.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.

 

 

 

Key Requirements

 

Essential

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong accounting background with understanding of financial reporting concepts.
  • Experience managing international clients or multinational corporate structures.
  • Experience coordinating teams across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience at senior levels.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and complex workstreams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Resilient under pressure.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Proactive and solution focused.

 

Preferred

 

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, RA, CPA, CA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with both US GAAP and Local GAAP environments.
  • Experience within corporate services, fund services, professional services, or outsourced accounting environments.
  • Experience leading governance forums and executive-level meetings
