Vistra Netherlands has an exciting opportunity as a Financial Services Accountant Funds for our international client portfolio.
Scope
You will deliver accounting services and advice to Venture Capital and Private Equity (VC/PE) structures and Managers. This sector specific (Funds) Accounting Team consists of a team of 10 people. You will report into the Manager Accounting Services Funds and support your Senior Financial Services Accountants in their roles as a true sparring partner for the client.
You will perform Fund accounting, which includes Investor reporting, creating capital calls and distributions, making Waterfall calculations, the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and disclosures. You will assist on tax matters and will also be ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting standards and you are producing client customised interim reports. Finally, you will provide assistance to the Fund manager to keep the structure in good financial and legal standing with the assistance of the Legal and Compliance team and with the backup of our Centre of Excellence. As a Medior Financial Services Accountant, pro-active guidance will be available when starting out.
The team is international, young and gender balanced. While everyone has their own portfolio, members of the team are always willing to provide further assistance and guidance when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Fund Accounting;
- Preparation of capital calls and distributions including waterfall calculations;
- Preparation of Investor reporting;
- Preparation of Financial Statements;
- Preparation of bookkeeping (e.g. accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, movements in investments according to Dutch GAAP but also IFRS);
- Preparation and coordination of CIT & VAT returns;
- Preparation of audit file and assistance with statutory audits;
- Following up, and coordination on client specific accounting requests;
- Client contact and communication with our Centre of Excellence.

Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration or equivalent;
- At least 3 years of relevant experience (audit or accounting);
- Excel skills or the willingness to develop these further;
- Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS;
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written;
- You are pro-active, focused on quality, persuasive and you have great advisory skills.
