We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Payment Operations Associate. Reporting to the Senior Payment Operations Manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in our Cheltenham office and offers local coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Payments business and it’s growth.

All our roles can be performed remotely with occasional visits to the office as requested by your manager. Where we have office locations, our team members are welcome to work remotely on a hybrid basis or fully office based as they wish.

 

Our highly motivated and engaged team members are at the heart of our success! This role is central to our payroll payment operations, ensuring that our clients' employees are paid on time every time. The Senior Payment Operations Associate will be responsible for processing and authorising payments, creating and validating funds requests and reconciliations, and maintaining accurate documentation. The successful candidate will also support client onboarding, assist with Treasury kick-off meetings, and contribute to process improvements within the team. This role is based in the UK and reports into the Senior Payment Operations Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Payment Processing and Authorisation:

  • Ensure net and statutory payments are validated and executed in a timely manner for all payrolls.
  • Check and authorise payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Check and validate monthly 'FMS' spreadsheet.
  • Create and second check funds requests and reconciliations.
  • Act as escalation point for payment queries, working with relevant parties to find a solution.

 

Process Improvement and Collaboration:

  • Drive process improvements within Payment Operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Maintain and update process documentation regularly. 
  • Assist with Treasury "Kick-Off" meetings and present to Sales Opportunities as needed. 
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.

 

Client Onboarding and Banking Administration:

  • Work directly with clients when implementing treasury services for new payrolls and client setups.
  • On-board new clients, completing and submitting relevant documentation to banking providers, ensuring that testing is signed-off in a timely manner ahead of go-live. 
  • Complete Systems Administrator duties - e.g. user and account set-up and entitlements, role allocation and signatory limits. 
  • Support the establishment of new payment solutions as iiPay expands into new territories.

 

Attributes/Technical Skills:

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively with peers, payment providers, clients, and external vendors.
  • Solid understanding of international payments.
  • Aptitude for working to strict deadlines with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and pay close attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.

 

Relevant Experience:

 

  •  Proven track record in payment operations with at least 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in checking and authorising payments.
  • Familiarity with international payment rails is a plus
