We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate – Payroll. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney, reporting to the Head of Payroll Services. With regional coverage, this role plays a key part in supporting the growth and success of our payroll services team.

As part of our payroll services team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and efficient payroll services for our international clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment, where your contributions will directly support client satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients using Employment Hero.
  • Set up new employees in the payroll system and ensure accurate onboarding data.
  • Prepare and process regular payroll runs, including adjustments and back payments.
  • Calculate and process employee terminations in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Prepare and lodge Payroll Tax, Superannuation contributions, and Workers’ Compensation enrolments and renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation.
  • Maintain and update payroll system data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee and client queries in a timely manner.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and audits as required.
  • Perform other payroll-related duties as needed to support the team

 

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to grow their career in payroll. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6–12 months of payroll experience (preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and client-focused approach.
  • A genuine interest in payroll and a desire to build expertise in a supportive and dynamic team.
