We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as AML/CFT Compliance Officer. Reporting to the manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in Poland (Warsaw) and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our compliance department and its’ growth. 

 

Purpose of Role: 

 

You will be part of Vistra’s Compliance Centre of Excellence and will support Vistra in their mission to assess, monitor and successfully fight the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT). In order to do so you will ensure that Vistra complies with all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies. You will also provide advice and guidance to first line of defence teams, monitor and report on compliance issues and conduct training and awareness programs.

 

Scope:

  • Provides strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of AML/CFT across diverse global compliance markets and the Compliance Centre of Excellence in Poland.

  • Collaborates with Director of Quality, Compliance and cross-functional teams and leaders to seamlessly integrate AML/CFT standards into overall compliance business strategy.

  • Where required, leads and develops a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Monitoring and responding in a prompt manner to AML/CFT queries from 1st line of defence.

  • Assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of AML/CFT related compliance policies and procedures.

  • Conducting regular compliance reviews and risk assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. 

  • Monitoring and analyzing transactions for suspicious activity and report findings to senior compliance officers. 

  • Providing guidance and support to various departments on compliance-related matters.

  • Staying up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations related to AML/CFT. 

  • Assisting in the preparation of compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participating in compliance training programs and workshops.

 

Be Accountable To:

  • Senior Management for establishing or maintaining a best-in-class AML/CFT compliance quality function and achieving quality objectives aligned with strategic goals.

  • Cross-functional compliance teams for integrating AML/CFT quality standards into operations.

  • The Director of Quality, Compliance for leading and developing their skills and expertise.

  • Regulatory bodies for adhering to industry standards and regulations.


People Management:

  • Manage or liaise closely with other Compliance Centre of Excellence team members in a professional team fashion including other teams and their management

  • Display behaviours such as flexibility to the changing needs of the business and communicating clearly and effectively to the various teams involved in initiatives

  • Oversee a team of professionals within a matrix structure, collaborating closely with both direct and indirect team members and their respective managers. This role requires adeptness in managing diverse teams and fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration. Key responsibilities include adapting to evolving business needs, effectively communicating across multiple teams, and ensuring alignment with organizational initiatives.

 

Peer and Stakeholder Relationship:

  • Provide regular communication between business resources, stakeholders & management

  • Facilitate workshops and other forums in the identification and resolution of complex issues or new opportunities

  • Contribute and participate in team activities, e.g., meetings, planning, goal setting

  • Provide support to other team members in both debriefing and assisting in delivery of outputs

  • Coach and mentor resources assigned to initiatives and communicate expectations; plan, monitor and appraise results
     

Key Requirements:

  • University degree (Master's degree strongly preferred) in law or related field.

  • 2-5 years experience in an AML/CFT focused role in a financial service industry or an auditing firm or consultancy providing support to a financial service provider on AML/CFT.

  • You have thorough understanding of AML/CFT and knowledge of European Compliance and AML related regulation.

  • Analytical mindset and ability to leverage data for process improvement and strategic decision-making

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Working knowledge of analytical and reporting tools like Power BI, Power Point etc.

  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) systems.

  • Proficient in English. Other languages are a plus.
