Purpose of the Role 


The AML Manager will report directly into the Senior Manager, Business Operations unless otherwise directed and work closely in supporting the 1st line AML function in the Irish business and will assist with ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day AML function.

 

Key responsibilities

 

 

  • Responsible for 1st line of defence including ensuring AML/CFT comprehensive AML arrangements are in place in accordance with Irish legislation and ensuring best practice for the Irish businesses and clients (including Schedule 2 clients where Vistra are responsible for AML/CFT obligations).
  • Responsible for 1st line compliance as a service offering to clients including AML on clients registered as ‘Schedule 2’ firms with the Central Bank of Ireland i.e. assisting with preparation of necessary documentation and conducting AML checks on behalf of the client as and when required and acting as MLRO for such companies where required.
  • Processing and analysing AML onboarding for new clients and liaising with internal stakeholders and/or clients on AML matters.
  • Preparation of risk assessments/AML checklist for each client and maintaining same to account for any changes in structure etc. during the client life cycle.
  • Dealing with AML related correspondence and / or requests from the relevant Irish business and/or clients of Vistra.
  • Prepare and host/lead VBC meetings and ensuring the minutes are completed for such meetings in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining the team mailbox and ensuring all communication is answered in a timely manner.
  • Assist with establishing effective auditable arrangements for AML/CFT training for all staff.
  • Comply with all local regulatory and AML/CFT requirements and Group policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Report suspicious transactions to the duly designated person.
  • Assist with other compliance tasks (non-AML) where directed including the Vistra                
  • Compliance Monitoring Programme.

 

Relevant Experience & Skills

 

  • Proven experience in dealing with AML/CFT compliance issues within the finance industry.
  • Detailed knowledge of the local regulatory legislation and requirements.
  • Strong AML/CFT compliance technical knowledge.
  • Previous experience dealing with senior executives and management.
  • Solid understanding of the key deliverables required by the local regulator and their impact on Vistra’s business.
  • Methodical with strong analytic skills; ability to interpret and summarise information for onward communication to the Irish boards and externally as required.
  • Self-motivated and highly organised with the ability to work under pressure handling multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Proven effective supervisory and management skills in being flexible, creative, team-oriented and process-driven.
  • Confident and motivational with excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

 

Professional Qualification

 

  • Degree plus LCOI or equivalent qualifications in AML/CFT are desirable
